Continuing Education for a Green Europe:
European Learning Lab Battery Cells (ELLB)

Together, we want to educate and train Germany and Europe to become an important player in the global battery market and thus drive the energy transition as a response to the climate crisis!

The European Learning Lab Battery Cells ELLB of the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Battery Cell Production FFB in Münster actively shapes the development of qualification programs in the battery sector. Various Fraunhofer institutes and facilities from the field of battery technologies are working together with RWTH Aachen University, WWU Münster and experts from industry to develop innovative educational programs for all those interested in the battery cosmos.

The Fraunhofer R&D Center for Electromobility Bavaria at the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC is bringing its expertise in the areas of battery materials, battery recycling and next-generations batteries to the ELLB.

Battery training - first free webinar series starts

The rapid upscaling of battery cell production in Europe is currently leading to major qualification gaps: By 2030, up to 300,000 battery experts are needed along the entire value chain. As participants of the European Battery Cell Learning Lab ELLB, we are facing this challenge together and are launching a first live webinar series on November 2, 2022, all about the battery cell value chain online. The four webinars will take place free of charge via teams and will cover the following topics:

  • November 2, 2022: European battery eco-system
  • November 28, 2022: Material Cycle of LIB (Participation Fraunhofer ISC)
  • March 01, 2023: Sustainable battery cell production & Digital twin (Participation Fraunhofer ISC)
  • March 27, 2023: Forecast of the battery value chain
